Joe Leon, 17, a senior at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, MD, brings the crowd to life when on the job. Only having preformed as a DJ for a year and a half, he has performed at over 65 events in the past year alone acting as a karaoke host, emcee, motivational dancer and disc jockey. He will be attending Georgetown University in the fall of 2008 to begin his career as an international businessman. For many years, Leon has been performing on stage in musical theater. He takes the skills he has developed as a singer, dancer, and actor such as his elegant stage presence and applies them to DJing. He has recently performed live at such venues as the Historic Warner Theater in Washington DC, as well as the Kennedy Center, also in Washington DC. With his ability to read a crowd, intuitive song selection and clear announcements, Leon creates a fun and enjoyable environment at any event. He specializes in teen events because as a high school student, he to date on all of the latest music and dance styles. While he loves mixing up top-40 at high school dances, he also enjoys the slightly more sophisticated environments of weddings, corporate parties, and birthday parties. Leon is well versed in all music genres and can effectively lead as a karaoke host. In addition, Leon is fluent in Spanish and has a wide selection and knowledge of Latin music. Even though Leon is on the younger side, he uses this to his advantage and puts a unique spin on every event leaving customers, guests and onlookers floored by the level of entertainment, professionalism and enjoyment exhibited at each event. |
