Welcome to Ocean City Wedding Minister. My name is Sean Rox. I've lived at the beach since 1994 and have been involved in beach weddings since 1998. I'm a relaxed, modern marriage celebrant. I'm a good listener who encourages couples to customize their ceremonies. Here are some fun pictures from last year's Ocean City beach weddings.

Steps to Marriage
1. Booking Celebrants can get very busy in the warmer months, so be sure to book as soon as you have a date for your wedding. You can email me or phone me to check availability.
2. Arrange First Meeting I would love to meet you! The most rewarding aspect of my work is meeting couples from all different walks of life, getting to know them, and ultimately bringing them together in marriage. During our first meeting, if you have not completed the Notice of Intended Marriage, and we are within the required time frame, we can do this together. At this stage, to secure you booking with me, I will require a retainer of $250.
3. Witnesses Depending on the state, your wedding ceremony may need to be witnessed by two people who speak and understand English, and who are at least 18 years of age. They will be required to witness the ceremony and sign the certificates. Ocean City does not require witness signatures.
4. Creating Your Wedding Ceremony Now we create your perfect ceremony! It may be small and stylish, casual and relaxed, or lavish with all the traditional trimmings. Every couple has their own ideas about their ultimate wedding ceremony, and there is a lot to be considered eg. participants, venue, outdoor vs. indoor, music, vows, rings, special requirements etc. I will provide you with samples of vows, ceremonies, and my own Wedding Guideline which you can follow during the planning process. You may also want to personalize your ceremony so that it reflects your values as a couple. Once we have gathered your ideas and my suggestions, I will put it all together, ready for your approval, unless of course you want it to be a pleasant surprise.
5. Closer to the Day Over the months leading up to your wedding day, there will be a considerable amount of communication between us. Closer to the day, we will need to arrange a final meeting to check that I have received all paperwork, run through the final draft of the ceremony, and sign the necessary declarations.
6. Your Wedding Day
I will arrive at the venue with plenty of time to set up and speak to anybody who is participating in readings, music, witnesses etc. By now, you will be prepared to walk down the aisle with confidence and meet the love of your life.

Requirements

Let me know what you have in mind and I'll try my best to make it happen for you. If you're ready to get started, take a moment to look over the Ocean City Maryland Marriage License and Paperwork requirements.

Ocean City Maryland Marriage License paperwork

1. Get your documents together Proof of Birth You must provide proof of birth by original birth certificate. Maryland law requires at least one of the wedding participants to obtain a marriage license and provide either an original birth certificate or valid drivers license for both parties. Social security numbers and addresses for both parties are required. If you were born overseas, you can provide either your original birth certificate or foreign passport, both of which must be legible in the English language. Previous Marriage If you are divorced you must provide an original Certificate of Divorce, or if widowed an original Death Certificate, both legible in English.

2. Wedding License As a legal requirement, you must obtain a Marriage License form from the Office of the County Clerk in the county the wedding is in. Ocean City marriage applicants must apply at the Snow Hill Court House on 1 West Market Street, Snow Hill MD (Directions from Ocean City). The phone number is (410) 632-5500. There is a 2 day waiting period to use a Maryland Wedding License. A MD wedding license is valid for 6 months. There is a 24 hour waiting period for a Delaware Marriage License (4 day waiting period for non-residents- unless one of the parties has a parent who permanently resides in DE) and the DE license is valid for 30 days. MD wedding license is $35 cash. Delaware wedding license is $30. Ocean City beach weddings require the notification of City Hall (410) 289-8221.

Legal requirements
The actual legal requirements for a wedding vary from place to place, but they are usually pretty minimal. In general, they amount to: Obtaining a governmental "marriage license" valid in the jurisdiction where the ceremony will be performed; Having an "authorized person" perform the ceremony; and A minimum of two witnesses are required in some states for the ceremony Returning the "necessary documentation" to the licensing government.
